Dating from 1590 and built on the site of a Medieval Castle, the parts visible today date from the 19th century resulting from numerous reconstructions as part of the development for thermal baths. This castle can't be visited (private property)

From the Depths of Medieval Time (year 1000) to the French Revolution in 1789, the greatest families of the Dauphinés were living in this manor : the Dauphins, the Aynard, the De Morges and the Venterol.
This old castral clod has crossed ages thanks to this environment and most of all to the hot water souces with whose its story is linked.
Its name changed often through centuries; during Medieval times, it was named "La Motte Castle" , during Renaissance "Castle of La Motte Verdeyère" and during the XIXth century, for final name : "La Motte les Bains castle".
