Tour du Chauvet - N°34 - Red

From the first few meters, the route gently leaves the village on slopes that are already well sustained, a little respite to finish warming up then it begins a long climb, in the heart of the forest. Around 1000–1100 m, the atmosphere changes by joining the Holme pass, then the village of Sainte-Luce. Here, the atmosphere becomes agricultural again, with vast open meadows. Do not miss the visit of the GAEC farm of Sainte-Luce, known for its diversified productions. The first part of the descent takes place in these open landscapes, offering beautiful views of the Drac valley and the surrounding peaks, notably those of Dévoluy, further south. The suite finds a more forest atmosphere up to Quet-en-Beaumont. The crossing of the hamlets offers new superb panoramas on the Obiou and the lake of Sautet. The return to La Salle-en-Beaumont takes place on a balcony overlooking the Drac, alternating passages in forest, agricultural areas and hamlets.
