Description

In the heart of the Massif of Ecrins, a deep pristine and glacier valley takes you to the end of world, to discover a high mountains mineral world.
Start : Le Désert-en-Valjouffrey
Difficulty : quite difficult
Altitude climb + : 900 m
Climb : 3h00

With family or friends, enter one of the wildest valleys of the Ecrins massif.
The 3-hour walk on a docile and fun trail will delight both seasoned hikers and occasional walkers.

Itinerary :
After parking at the entrance to the village, cross following the signs to reach the entrance to the Ecrins National Park.

A beautiful, regular and docile path will lead you to the rhythm of the Bonne at the foot of the moraine on which the refuge is built. After an hour of debonair walking you will find the freshness of the piss waterfall. Then the path leaves the deciduous forests to soon reveal a grassy plateau on which you will meet affectionate sheep and patoux. The iconic split stone announces the Petits Vallons waterfall and the shepherd's hut. You then pass a vast white landslide, pass the last shrubs, guess the opening of the Cros de la Vache under the north face of the Olan before attacking the Z : two switchbacks more frightening than they are, and the cabin appears!

You can descend via the Petits Vallons if you wish to make a loop, and thus gain height by taking the balconies of Font Turbat which will allow you to admire the jagged ridges of the Dévourey on the Valgaudemar side, and those of the Grands Vallons on the Valjouffrey side.
