Description

A circular itinerary that will get your legs going from the start since it begins with an ascent of one of France’s most challenging mountain passes: Parquetout pass! The rest of the ride is essentially downhill - through the sunny pastures of magnificent Scia Peak - and then you return to Valbonnais via a pleasant descent. A bewildering loop with stunning panoramic views !

When leaving Valbonnais, first take the D526 road towards Entraigues, then, after the Fayettes bridge, make a right onto the D212f towards Les Angelas / Col de Parquetout. From there, a steep climb awaits you, with an average slope of over 10% up to the summit of the pass! Afterwards, while still on the D212f, the itinerary pleasantly descends into the SaintMichel pastures, which face the south. When you are in the hamlet of Villelonge, head towards Saint-Michel-en-Beaumont and then La Salle-en-Beaumont, all while remaining on the D212. Once you have reached Salle-en-Beaumont, you will cross the Napoléon route (N85) on your way to Saint-Pierre-de-Méaroz, prior to gradually climbing up towards the Napoleon route, still on the D212. Once you’ve reached the Napoleon route (N85) for the second time, take it on your right side (towards Corps / Gap) a few hundred metres, then turn left towards Les Miards / Valbonnais (D26a).
