Tour du Pays de Corps - N°35 - Black

Description

The tour of the land of Corps is reserved for experienced and enduring mountain bikers.

It starts from the village of Corps. First, it follows a shoulder between the valleys of the Drac and the Sézia. The atmosphere gradually becomes wilder, then the route dives to reach the bottom of the deep valley. A shaded respite is then offered along the Sézia, before the course embarks on a long and difficult climb. The ascent first crosses a few hamlets of the Côtes-de-Corps and crosses the Napoleon road, in an agricultural atmosphere. Further upstream, the slope hardens and the forest takes over. Around 1000 to 1100 meters above sea level, the landscape opens again in a more mountainous atmosphere, up to the village of Sainte-Luce and then to the Holme pass. The route then continues its ascent in the pastures up to the Haut Col, around 1480 meters, offering beautiful panoramas. All that remains then is to embark on a long and very varied descent. It begins in open landscapes, then the route gradually becomes forest again. The route ends on the remains of an unfinished railway track, which leads back to the village of Corps. You will have to take the time to walk through the narrow streets to fully capture the village atmosphere of this small mountain town.
