The tour of the Samblue is a demanding course, especially for its significant elevation gain. It also offers a very mountainous atmosphere, under the Obiou, with grandiose landscapes.
Learn moreFrom the Payas, it climbs to reach a rolling track that leads to the remains of the old agricultural canal. The route then evolves into the dry canal, including through a small tunnel. This narrow and stony passage is quite technical. The configuration then changes with an ascent on often wide forest tracks, backed by the slopes of the Obiou. Around 1500 meters, the forest gradually disappears and gives way to a vast pasture up to the highest point of the Faïsses pass. On all sides, the landscape is spectacular. After joining the Samblue pass and its forest hut, the route goes around the Jénabran by rolling tracks until reaching the Croix de la Pigne, then the Payas through fields.
