Climbing spot of La Chalp

Description

Site with a sporting character, the routes of the Chalp are rather intended for good/very good climbers (few easy routes). A small bar with about forty routes between bouldering steps, resistance and strange balance movements.

Equipment:
The whole site was revamped in 2012 by the guides of Bourg d'Oisans. On the program: re-equipment according to the standards of the moment and development of new routes from 3 to 8b. Some of the routes are still quite challenging and require vigilance.
You will be cool on hot days and, at the end of the day, no need to get up early, the sun heats the holds generously in the morning.
The different climbing points are relatively far apart.

You will also find a very small initiation sector, 4 routes (3b, 3b, 2c and 2b). The site has been equipped by the team for a top class family welcome!

Situation

Access: from La Mure follow 25 km direction Valbonnais, the Col d'Ornon. Pass the hamlet of La Chalp and park in the parking lot on the left facing the cliff.
Access from Grenoble: Access is faster via the Romanche valley. From the D1091, shortly before Bourg d'Oisans, take the D526 towards the Col d'Ornon. After the Col, pass Chantelouve and park in the parking lot on the right, just before the hamlet of La Chalp.

On foot: 7 min - Take a well marked path. In a few zigzags, you reach the clearly visible cliff from the parking lot.
