Castle of Beaumont

Description

The castle has been built in the second part of 15th century by Humbert de Comboursier, royal chatelain of La Mure. Dauphins are used to come in this castle to rest and hunt. It has been "preserved" from the religious wars.

Massively built with thick walls, its rectangular main building was flanked by four round towers. Only two remain today, one of which dates from the 15th century (the southeast tower).
Today, this castle is one of the three castles depicted on the town's coat of arms.
